Helping Hand

Everyone's a feature in this play
And what you do or say
Can make someone laugh, make someone cry, everybody has the power
You don't have to rise to lead the band
But like a grain of sand
Just touching one is touching all for all are touching someone somewhere

I don't care if you are great or small
This world is here for all
And we are all connected in so many different ways together

No one can be separate from the rest
Not at our worst or best
And if at once we saw the ties that bind us all the sight would blind us

Everybody needs a helping hand - Everybody needs a friend
Everybody needs to be the one with a helping hand to lend
Sometimes you need a helping hand - sometimes you need a friend
Sometimes you can be the one, you see, with a helping hand to lend

Sometimes I feel big as I can be
It just helps me to see
That when I'm down I might need you, then turn around, be there for someone else

Everyone from sea to shining sea
Is part of you and me
So if we try we all can see the good that grows from helping others
