Dead Skin

i tried to live according to your ways
yet hypocrisy marked my every step
lies to myself became my companion
as i lived under your rules for living
religious games i will no longer play
for the Holy Spirit dwells in my life as i walk
with my Lord Christ walking in his ways
being blessed by the Grace of God
throwing off that dead skin of religion
taking tradition out of my life
turning away from my hypocritical ways

i've destroyed my idols of doctrine and theology
