This used to be paradise
at the birth of time
Giving way to free enterprise
now we're ruled by crime

Frayed, overrun
in the name of prosperity
We tear down, rape the land
in the name of proficiency

Rising so far, shining so bright
Nearing the might of glory and light

Savaged by the science machine
there's no place to hide
Disregarding all nature's laws
have we got no pride?

Why can't you see, can't you feel

Some say yes, some say no
but their vote doesn't make a sound

Here at my feet what remains of society
slain by the dark megaforce of technology
