Time in a Dream

Days become broken thoughts
When time begins to fade
I see the remnants of a distant memory

Like I’m searching, for something else
There must be a new way for myself
Down this path we search for purpose
It is near but, far from the surface

Set myself free, no longer me
Finally waking, all this time
I’ve been living in a dream

Can’t understand a thing
Their eyes are filled with doubt
Shackled in shadows
Without ever finding out

We all contain all the records
The pain, living an illusion
Brought to our knees
Seeking only relief
See through the confusion

I see my thoughts begin
To slip in what is real
Illumination of a flame I couldn’t feel
