Show Me the Way

Wake up in the morning
Reminisce about my life
What am I supposed to do now
When all my dreams seem out of sight
But I've been waiting and wishing
Nothing in my life if free
Cause all the chances that I've taken
May they never catch up with me

But every time I stand on my own
I get knocked down as if to be shown
That, in this life, we're all not the same
I give my life, but nothing gained
Show me the way

So I sit here and just wonder
What this world would be like
If all my influences change me
Would my shadows live my life
But fate has reasons unencumbered
So who are we to choose our path
Feeling helpless and unwanted
