Time Could do Better

In my mind is a photograph, a still frame behind walls.
You can put in the new but the old you can't lose.
Doesn't matter if it's right or wrong.
And it's you climbing stairs, stairs that lead to nowhere.
A place without time here it's meant to stay.
A place in my mind you can't erase.

It's out of my hands, it's out of my reach.
I've got to say, I thought time could do better than this.
But it can't take this away.
Away away away.

A picture on the wall you can take it down.
But if it's in your mind, It's always around.
You can't throw it out I don't care what you do.
The moral of the story is it's part of you.
Yeah, it's you taking me to a place I've never seen.
A place without time here it's meant to stay.
A place in my mind you can't erase.

It's always here, it never leaves.
though the picture fades, the color bleeds
it remains and it will stay.
What the mind will see who takes away?

The mind sees what it will, and I see that face still.
No time could ever take that picture away.
