waḥdun biyibqū, mitl zahr al-baylsān
They're alone, picking the leaves of time

They close the forest, like the winter knocking
بيسكروا الغابة، بيضلهن متل الشتي يدقوا

The pigeons tower is enclosed and high

صرخ عليهن بالشتي يا ديب، بلكي بيسمعوا
ṣarakh ʿalayhun bil-shitī yā dīb, balki bīsmaʿū

They stay alone, like this old cloud

waḥdun biyibqū, mitl hal-ghaym al-ʿatīq
All alone, just their faces and the darkness of the road
وحدهن، وجوهن وعتم الطريق
waḥdahun, wujūhun wa ʿatam al-ṭarīq
They're cutting through the forest, and their hands are like winter knocking
عم يقطعوا الغابة وبإيدهن متل الشتي يدقوا
ʿam yiqṭaʿū al-ghāba wa biʾīd hun mitl al-shitī yidqū
Weeping while they are at my doors
