Adornó su capa con treinta runas de oroAdorned his cape by thirty runes of gold
De quien las historias desde tiempos desconocidos contabanOf whom the tales since ages unknown told

El hombre llegó a la orilla del marThe man arrived at the shore of sea
Y contempló el cielo nocturnoAnd gazed onto the nightly sky
Sus oídos podían escuchar y sus ojos podían verHis ears could hear and his eyes could see
Dos cuervos oscuros como la noche pasandoTwo ravens dark as night passing by

En la distancia se escuchan los truenosIn a distance far the thunder sounds
Y los relámpagos alcanzaron los suelos congeladosAnd lightnings reached the frozen grounds
Su aliento corría rápido, su corazón latía fuerteHis breath ran fast, his heart pounded strong

Envuelto en su capa, con su martillo al cuelloHe in cape was wrapped, and with his hammer 'round his neck
Abrió camino aunque no vio el senderoHe forced his way though he didn't saw the path
Pero no descansó, hasta que cruzó esta tierra de fríoBut he did not rest, till he had crossed this land of chill
Y la tormenta se calmó, cuando se encontró solo en la colinaAnd the storm had calmed, when he stood alone on hill

Sus ojos podían ver el bosque brillandoHis eyes could see the forrest shining bright
Y sus árboles reflejaban la luz dorada del solAnd it's trees reflected solens golden light
El sonido de cuernos llegó a sus oídosThe sound of horns then reached his ears
Para darle la bienvenida y llevarse sus miedosTo welcome him and take away his fears

De todos sus reinos, los reyes vinieronFrom all their lands the kings, they came
Con su séquito de incontables hombresWith their retinue of countless men
Y la doncella en armadura completa montaba en sus caballosAnd the maiden in full armour sat on their horses
Alados, hasta que comenzó el ritoWinged, until the right began

Así que descansó un rato y se recuperó de su viajeSo he rested a while an recovered from his ride
El horizonte brillaba con la poderosa luz del norteThe horizon gleamed by the mighty northers light
Y los ancianos cantaban cuentos sobre el pasadoAnd the elder ones sang tales about the past
