Night Drive

Hand on the wheel and the radio low
Watching the signs as they come and they go
City is fading inside of the glass
Watching the buildings and memories pass

I don't have a plan or a place to arrive
Just need to feel like I am alive
Gasoline burning and wasting the time
Leaving the mess and the trouble behind

Nobody knows that I left in the night
Everything wrong but it feels alright
Yellow lines moving and leading the way
Maybe I come back another day
Phone in the pocket is making a sound

I don't want to turn the car around
Keep moving forward and never look back
Tires are rolling on the black
Headlights are cutting right through the gray
Driving until the night turns into day
