expert of well known vices
(my most horrible thoughts)
found me sleeping in seeds
(are a result of sobriety)
whisked me away
(you still found me here)
to the crossroads
(lying on broken bulbs)

somehow he knew my fantasies
i'd been living like an animal
making deals with leeches and wolves
hoping my soul still had some worth
so i could stay loud
and live for free
master of well known vices
been living in my shadow for a while now
nipping at my heels
and breathing down my neck
none of this is real,
but still you're there
breathing down my neck

he said,
"dig deep and then sell to the shallow
then you can take,
take whatever you please"

it all seemed like a dream
