Setembro Pálido

Pale September

Setembro pálido, naquele ano, eu vesti o tempo como um vestidoPale September, I wore the time like a dress that year
Os dias de outono oscilavam suavemente ao meu redorThe autumn days swung soft around me
Como algodão na minha peleLike cotton on my skin

Mas, à medida que as brasas do verãoBut as the embers of the summer
Perderam o fôlego e desapareceramLost their breath and disappeared
Meu coração ficou frio e apenas os vaziosMy heart went cold and only hollow
Ritmos ressoavam de dentroRhythms resounded from within
Mas então ele se ergueu, brilhante como a Lua cheiaBut then he rose, brilliant as the Moon in full
E afundou nas tocas da minha fortalezaAnd sank in the burrows of my keep

E toda a minha armadura caindoAnd all my armor falling down
Em uma pilha aos meus pésIn a pile at my feet
E meu inverno dando lugar ao calorAnd my winter giving way to warm
Enquanto eu canto para ele dormirAs I'm singing him to sleep

Ele segue seu curso tal como uma vitória-régiaHe goes along just as a water lily
Suave sobre a superfície de seus pensamentos, seu corpo flutuaGentle on the surface of his thoughts, his body floats
Não sobrecarregado pela paixão ou pela intensidadeUnweighted down by passion or intensity

Contudo, desconhece a profundidade em que deslizaYet unaware of the depth upon which he coasts
E ele encontra um lar em mimAnd he finds a home in me
Pelo o que o infortúnio semeia, ele sabe que o meu toque colheráFor what misfortune sows, he knows my touch will reap
