Ghost

I tend to separate
Who I was and who I am today
Like I'm living in someone else's brain
Sheltered and shy kid
With no inspiration
To being so confident
That I get in my own way
Was I just replaced
When I built up
Some self esteem
Maybe there's a piece of me
Deep down in there
I'm simply unaware of it
Time to let em in
Find contentment with
The life that I have lived and
I'm face to face with my ghost

I feel it closing in
Saw a friend that I knew back when
The stories that they sold seemed
So distant to me wouldn't you agree
I've come so far
In the bottom of my heart
It's hiding
And I cannot fight it
It's all just inspired
