Just a few hours after the sunrise,
On the resurrection day,
Two men from emmaus walked and talked along their way;
When all of a sudden from out of nowhere,
Came a one that seemed to be so wise;
Unbeknownst to either,
They were talking with the christ.

On the road to emmaus they met Jesus,
And he came and spoke to them;
He opened the scripture,
So their eyes could plainly see;
That he was the only god, jehovah,
Conquering death at calvary;

Grant that I may walk with thee.

O, that I could have the chance like they did,
Just to hear the savior teach
From out of the scriptures,
From beginning to the end;
But I have the spirit living within me,
And he teaches me the word;

That I have fellowship with him.
