But where will we end up if it continues like this?Ma dove andremo a finire se continua così?
It's often heard from people here and theresi sente spesso dire dalla gente qua e là
Continuing violence, scandals, deceit, and evils:Continua violenza, scandali, imbrogli e mali:
where have the true, great ideals gone?dove sono finiti i veri, grandi ideali?"
It's true, the world today is painted in dark colors,E' vero, il mondo oggi si dipinge a tinte scure,
misunderstandings and harsh scenes are exalted,si esaltano gli equivoci, le scene crude e dure,
money and easy successes with a grab, use, and throw away mentality.soldi e facili successi col piglia, usa e getta.
However, if I may: this is not the only humanity.Però, mi si permetta: non è questa la sola umanità.

I know another humanityConosco un'altra umanità
the one I often encounter on the street;quella che spesso incontro per la strada;
the one that doesn't shout, the one that doesn't crushquella che non grida, quella che non schiaccia
to stand out above other people.per emergere sull'altra gente.

the one that doesn't steal to have,quella che non sa rubare per avere,
but will be happy to earnma sarà contenta di guadagnare
bread with their sweat.il pane con il suo sudore.

I believe, I believe in this humanityCredo, credo in questa umanità
that lives in silence, that still knows how to blushche vive nel silenzio, che ancora sa arrossire
knows how to lower their eyes and knows how to apologize.sa abbassare gli occhi e sa scusare.
This is the humanity that gives me hope.Questa è l'umanità che mi fa sperare.

that breaks down barriers, that pays in person,che abbatte le frontiere, che paga di persona,
that doesn't use weapons, but knows how to use their heart.che non usa armi, ma sa usare il cuore.
This is the humanity that believes in love.questa è l'umanità che crede nell'amore.
