Endless Journey

In the beginning the path seemed clear
Now there're meanders and shadows - I fear
For all times to roam in solitude
Bitter, silent tears drowning my mood
At night I shiver beneath an oak
Through the leafs wind's wafting cold
By clouds disguised rises the moon
From above I hear nightingale's croon

Sad voices calling me to yield
But the tune out on the field
Takes me further away from home
On my endless journey alone
Dawn has broken as I awake still tired
This is not the place my dreams desired

But there's a melody from the hill ahead
Skald, minstrel and fiddler play instead
Their song vanishs in the mist of my way
Sunlight flows through the wood in rays
The trees silently whisper their tale
As I leave their shelter. It's my last vale
