Pues para ir al pueblo vecino por aceiteFor to venture to their neighbor's town for oil
Entonces tendrían que matar a un dragónThen a dragon they would have to slay

Pasaron los olivos donde las sirenas cantan sus cancionesPast the olive trees where the sirens sing their songs

En su mira estaba el dragón que se interponía en su caminoIn their sights there was the dragon standing in their way.

Al final el dragón fue derrotado por las manos de su valiente líderIn the end the dragon was defeated by the hands of their valiant leader
Que se preparaba para asestar su golpe mortalWho prepared to deliver his deadly blow

¿Qué tipo de ejemplo darían a los niños de su pueblo?What kind of example would they set for the children of their village?"

Entonces el líder tomó su espada y la clavó en el sueloThen the leader took his sword and thrust it in the ground!

¡Ahora de vuelta al pueblo con nuestro aceite!Now back to the village with our oil!"

Más tarde los hombres regresaron llevando en alto el aceite de latkeLater the men returned holding high the latke oil
Sabiendo que Janucá estaba salvada, todo el pueblo se regocijóKnowing Hannukah was saved the whole town rejoiced

El dragón encadenado mostró su gratitudThe dragon in chains showed his gratitude
Al pueblo por haberle perdonado la vidaTo the village for sparing his life
Encendiendo las velas de la menora en llamasBy torching the menorah candles aflame
Mientras los guerreros se acostaban con sus esposasWhile the warriors laid down with their wives
