A state that's neither death nor life
Nobody sees or hears
A place beyond, or perhaps within
Where you come face to face with fear

Into a realm you dread you now must go
To experience things we can never know

Suspended, between this world and the next
Mind and body, disconnect

Losing yourself
Begin a journey to somewhere else
Only time will tell
What the end you'll find may be Consciousness
Suspended in this nothingness
Between life and death
There are only fragments, of psyche

We can only speculate
On where the spirit goes
The moments before your fate
Only you can know

Just how long can you endure
Stranded between worlds
And can we ever be sure
Just what you've seen and heard?

The final journey, you now undertake
In a dreamlike world, but fully awake

Suspended, between this world and the next
