Visions of an endless tunnel
Carved through sleep
A voice echos in whispers, from beneath
A mouth hungry to see

One shadow too many
This world’s not mine
Grip on my sternum
Fingers behind my teeth

To speak is creation
Language becomes the living
Words gives birth
To a loss of control

Silence will spread
We drown in quiet
The shadow is born
From the corpses of quiet

It reaches through death
Into your skull
And pulls you through

The violence within me
Escapes like smoke
Blood like cancer
Fills my throat

The violence within me
Congeals into shadow
And leaves me behind in death
I descend

I believe in demons

The shadow approaches
As I walk deeper
It promises secrets
Of a world unseen

There is an old room
Where the light of the past
Comes through

I stand at the threshold
A figure sits there
In the room
