El palacio de ángeles y Dios.The palace of angels and God.

Cuando, levantados por la Palabra vivificante,When, raised by the life-giving Word,
Vemos descender la nueva ciudad,We see the new city descend,
Adornada como una novia para su Señor;Adorned as a bride for her Lord;
La ciudad tan santa y limpia,The city so holy and clean,
Ninguna tristeza puede respirarse en el aire;No sorrow can breathe in the air;
Ninguna sombra de aflicción o pecado,No gloom of affliction or sin,
Ninguna oscuridad del mal está allí.No shadow of evil is there.

Por fe ya contemplamosBy faith we already behold
A la encantadora Jerusalén aquí;That lovely Jerusalem here;
Sus muros son de jaspe y oro,Her walls are of jasper and gold,
Sus edificaciones son claras como cristal;As crystal her buildings are clear;
Fundada inamoviblemente en gracia,Immovably founded in grace,
Ella permanece como siempre ha permanecido,She stands as she ever hath stood,
Y resplandece su Constructor,And brightly her Builder displays,

Una luz pura y permanente;A pure and a permanent light:
El Cordero es su luz y su sol,The Lamb is their light and their sun,
Y ¡mira! por reflexión brillan,And lo! by reflection they shine,
Con Jesús inefablemente uno,With Jesus ineffably one,
Y brillan en una efusión divina.And bright in effulgence divine!

Los santos en Su presencia recibenThe saints in His presence receive
Su gran y eterna recompensa;Their great and eternal reward;
En Jesús, en el Cielo viven,In Jesus, in Heaven they live,
Reinan en la sonrisa de su Señor;They reign in the smile of their Lord:
La llama del amor angelicalThe flame of angelical love
Se enciende en el rostro de Jesús;Is kindled at Jesus' face;
Y todo el gozo arribaAnd all the enjoyment above
Consiste en la mirada extasiada.Consists in the rapturous gaze.
