Matthew woke beneath the pool
His laughter rising through the deepest blue
He saw his body torn in two
Placed a hand but it sank straight through

Between the bones and binds
Each vein that contained little rivers of light
An angel took his side

As his mind sank like a stone
Matthew traced a life he would've known
