Of Amber

Amber gifts the piece of her heart
Encased in resin, she'd been right
The night wore jewels, of sparking Pleiades
And there she'd keep her love safe from the world of dreams

Free from the Earth and all of its pain
She traded everything that's real
To hold and feel the arms of Orion
Reaching for eternity towards the dazzling deep

But when she reached the stars
She found them empty
Cold and quiet
Looking back over her shoulder
She saw the true source of the light
