Fragte Gott um Hilfe, da er die Aufgabe nicht allein bewältigen konnteAsked God for help as he could not withstand the task alone
Und dann eines Tages schaute er weg und da lag ein SteinAnd then one day he looked away and thereby lay a stone
Gott sprach: Schreibe auf diesen Stein die Worte, die ich dir sageGod said write upon this stone these words I say to you
Und wenn ihr alle meinen Regeln gehorcht, werde ich euch sicher hindurchführenAnd if you all obey my rules I'll see you safely through
Gott öffnete die Tür zum Himmel und leitete Moses' HändeGod opened Heaven's door and then He guided Moses' hands
Und dann sagte er: Geh und sag meinen Kindern, das sind meine GeboteAnd then He said go and tell my children these are my commands
Geh und besteige den Berg, Moses, besteige jetzt den Berg und beteGo and climb that mountain Moses climb that mountain now and pray
Besteige jetzt den Berg und sag uns, was unser Herr zu sagen hatClimb that mountain now and tell us what our Lord has had to say
Du sollst keine Götter neben mir haben, das ist mein großes GebotThou shalt have no Gods before me is my great command
Und du sollst dir kein Bildnis machen mit deiner HandAnd thou shalt not make any graven image by thy hand
Du sollst meinen Namen nicht missbrauchen, wenn du schuldlos sein willstThou shalt not take my name in vain if thou would guiltless be
Erinnere dich, den Sabbat-Tag allein für mich zu haltenRemember thou to keep the sabbath day alone for me
Ehre deinen Vater und deine Mutter und du sollst nicht tötenHonor thy father and thy mother and thou shalt not kill
Du sollst nicht Ehebruch begehen und du sollst nicht stehlenThou shalt not commit adult'ry and thou shalt not steal
Liebe deinen Nächsten wie dich selbst und zeige deinem Nächsten FriedenLove thy neighbor as thyself and show thy neighbor peace
Neide nicht dem Haus deines Nächsten noch irgendetwas, das ihm gehörtCovet not thy neighbor's house nor anything that's his
Geh und besteige den BergGo and climb that mountain
Moses zeigte diese Worte Gottes allen Kindern dannMoses showed these words of God to all the children then
Sie packten ihre Sachen und machten sich auf, um das gelobte Land zu findenThey pulled up stakes and headed out to find the promised land
Das Moses ihnen beschrieben hatte und von den Annehmlichkeiten dort erzählteThat Moses had described to them and told of comforts there
Die Kinder der Unterdrückung dachten, sie würden nirgendwo etwas findenThe children of oppression thought they'd not find anywhere
Doch bald sollten sie sich von ihm trennen und eine Weile allein weitergehenBut they were soon to part from him and push alone awhile
Denn es war nie für ihn bestimmt, die letzte Meile zu gehenFor it was never meant for him to walk that final mile
Die Kinder riefen: Wenn wir weitergehen müssen, Moses, ohne dichThe children cried if we must go on Moses without you
Dann sprich noch einmal mit Gott und sag uns, was wir tun sollenThen talk to God just one more time and tell us what to do
Geh und besteige den BergGo and climb that mountain
