Conejito Negro

Black Rabbit

Él dijo: Eres mi joyaHe said: You're my jewel
Mejor guardada en una caja, así es más seguro para todosBetter kept in a box, that's safest for all
Y ella lloró, pero no hizo sonidoAnd she cried, but made no sound
Solo lágrimas marcando líneas de sus mejillas a sus mandíbulasOnly tears tracking lines from her cheeks to her jowls

Y se preguntó qué quería decir con esoAnd she wondered what he meant when he said
Eres mi conejito negroYou're my little black rabbit
¿Era amabilidad para proteger? Was it kindness to protect
¿O solo quería su cuerpo?Or did he only want her body?

Así que al día siguiente, tomó el trenSo the next day, she took the train
Pasando por el lugar donde él trabajaba y hacia las llanurasPast the place where he worked and out to the plains
Era lo más lejos que había estadoIt was the furthest she ever had strayed
Sin su brazo en el suyo guiándola hacia adelanteWithout his arm on her arm guiding her forward

Y vagó en la hierba y pensóAnd she wandered in the grass and she thought
Soy su conejito negroI'm his little black rabbit
Y de regreso a casa, compró una pistola y pensóAnd on the way home, she bought a gun and she thought
Vamos a cazarLet's go chasing

Así que al día siguiente, él salió a trabajarSo the next day, he left for work
Y dijo: Querida, regreso a las 5, mejor asegúrate de que la cena esté listaAnd he said: Dear, I'm back by 5, you better make sure dinner's served
Así que ella tomó su pistola y se fueSo she took her gun and left
Y en las llanuras todo el día, disparó conejos con su vestidoAnd in the plains all day long, she shot rabbits in her dress

Y cuando le sirvió su té, pensóAnd when she served him his tea, she thought
No soy tu conejito negroI'm not your little black rabbit
De alguna manera, había disparado su sueño, ella eraSomehow, she'd shot his dream, she was
La cazadora y el gritoThe hunter and the scream
