Mi Última Petición

My Last Request

Mi Última Petición

Every dawnCada amanecer
I smile seeing youSonrío de verte
After so many yearsDespués de tantos años
You've been by my sideQue has estado a mi lado
But it terrifies me to thinkPero me aterra pensar

What will happen¿Qué sucederá
The day that deathEl día que la muerte
Separates you and meA ti y a mí nos separe
And leaves us apart?Y nos deje alejados?
God forbid itNo lo quiera ni Dios

That's why I askPor eso es que yo
Little GodLe pido a Diosito
Not to allow itQue no lo permita
For anything in the worldPor nada del mundo
And let us liveY que nos deje vivir

Or die together, both of usO morir juntos los dos
Because there's no greater sadnessPues no hay más tristeza
Or more despairNi más desconsuelo
Than being without youQue estar sin ti

I would be a wretchYo sería un desdichado
Just a damn crazy person wanderingSolo un maldito loco vagando
A lost soulUn alma penando
If you're not by my side, my loveSi no estás junto a mí, mi amor
And that's why I want to ask youY por eso te quiero pedir
If it takes you before it takes meSi te lleva a ti antes que a mí
To beg it to take me with youQue le ruegues me lleve contigo
And not make us suffer like thisY no nos haga sufrir así

And my last request will beY mi última petición será
That it takes us bothQue nos lleve a los dos

I would be a wretchYo sería un desdichado
Just a damn crazy person wanderingSolo un maldito loco vagando
A lost soulUn alma penando
If you're not by my side, my loveSi no estás junto a mí, mi amor
And that's why I want to ask youY por eso te quiero pedir
If it takes you before it takes meSi te lleva a ti antes que a mí
To beg it to take me with youQue le ruegues me lleve contigo
And not make us suffer like thisY no nos haga sufrir así

And my last request will beY mi última petición será
