If only I could circle the worldKönnt' die Welt ich umkreisen
Just for fun without purpose without goalNur so zum Spaß ohne Zweck ohne Ziel
Could travel with the migration of birdsKönnt' mit dem Zuge der Vögel verreisen
Wherever I want to goWohin ich grad' will

If I were the seaWär' ich das Meer
Oh how could I imagineOh wie könnt' ich mich stellen
The battle of life with raging powerDem Kampfe des Lebens mit tosender Macht
The enemies buried beneath the wavesDie Feinde begraben wohl unter den Wellen
In any battleIn jeglicher Schlacht

If I were a stormWär' ich ein Sturm
Oh how I could be angryOh wie könnte ich wüten
And destroy everything that displeases meUnd alles verheeren was mir mißfällt
Yrieb' unimpressed by pleas and requestsYrieb' unbeeindruckt von Flehen und Bitten

Would children playWürden Kinder wohl spielen
With stones and wood in my bedMit Steinen und Hölzern in meinem Bett
