Dead Star

Under a darkening sky
A floundering albatross fluttering by
Sullen and closing its eye
Tumbling downward it falters and dies
Solemnly fading to stone
Dead star calling it home

Bound to a withering star
Burdened with anchors of feather and bone
Dimming and wilting to gray
Crumbling slowly and breaking away
