After the Sun

It's an odd day
Far from here
We lost our way for a while in transcendent fear
Now that you're not there
You overwhelmed our dreams
Kids say hello to the stars
Until their light disappears

And leaves fall
Leaves die
We are all the same
Odd creatures of the night
Lost in infinite space
Where I can see light
Only thoughts remain
Here, on the other side
Time seems to slip away

And time goes by
