This Is How I Know

How can love be known
Unless it makes its home with me?
How can I watch it grow
Unless it is willing to sow its tears?

This is how I know true love
That God did not withhold His very own Son
This is how I know His grace
To demonstrate His love in such a way

He wanted me to feel it
He wanted me to see it
For me to believe it
To touch it and to breathe it
He has displayed the greatest love
His perfect love

The depth of love was shown
His heart was fully exposed for me
I have hope that I’ve never known
He’s overtaken my soul and my fear

So the word became flesh
And He made with us a home
