To The Grave

I’ve walked the halls of madness, I’ve heard the jailer’s laugh
I’ve yet to sing the funeral dirge, the only option left
Risen from an inferno of hopelessness and shame
Walked the tightrope out of it then shouldered all the blame

The broken record of my life skips bodies of my friends
So many walked that path with me, it took them to their end
Resting on rusty laurels, it’s sweating while you sleep
It’s doing push-ups in the dark with a knife between it’s teeth
