The Simple Truth

Where does the time go
Why don't my mind know
I'm better off leaving it alone this time
I had been chasing
A light that is fading
I'm doing what I can to keep my hope alive

I used to believe in a simple truth
Followed the lead, what I'm supposed to do
But now what I need is to listen to me

I can't begin to know everything I thought I knew

All that I’ve been through
What’s it amount to
If I can’t do it better than I’ve done before
For all that I'm able
Maybe I should be grateful
