Whirlpools

Pulling me under, bringing me down
I'm just trying my hardest not to drown
Whirlpools
Sink or swim, we all die like fools
Always swimming against the current
Fighting for my life when I knew I wouldn’t survive
Anchored to this town, I'm barely alive

I’ve never known myself to sink this low
As though this heart of mine has turned to stone
Gasping for air, like I'm lost at sea
While the weight of this world is slowly drowning me

These blue lungs have turned to lead
Should of burnt the whole town down
In a fury of hell fire and flame instead
Under pressure, it’s crushing my chest
A feeble attempt, still limp and lifeless
Maybe somehow I can learn to fight
This sinking feeling and turn the tides
