The Tarasco

El Tarasco

First they gave me wingsPrimero me dieron alas
And now they want to stop meY ahora me quieren parar
I'm not a wire monkeyYo no soy mono de alambre
What rope can they give¿Qué cuerda le pueden dar?
I'm not Juan ColoradoYo no soy Juan Colorado
But I'm from Michoacan.Pero soy de Michoacán

How much will it cost the sierra¿Cuánto costará la sierra
From Michoacan to ColimaDe Michoacán a Colima?
I bring between my eyebrowsYo traigo entre ceja y ceja
The aguaje of aguilillasEl aguaje de Aguilillas
There the roosters are fineAllí los gallos son finos
And the girls are pretty.Y las muchachas bonitas

Don't waste money on radars anymoreYa no gasten en radares
Or destroying my tracksNi destrozando mis pistas
I'm a nocturnal birdYo soy una ave nocturna
That lands in any cornfieldQue aterriza en cualquier milpa
Besides the day I fallAdemás el día que caiga
Many from up there will fall.Caerán muchos de allá arriba

They took me out of ChironaMe sacaron de chirona
Because it suited themPorque así les convenía
The sack was too big for themYa les vino grande el saco
And they erase me from the listY me borran de la lista
Upon arriving in Redwood CityAl llegar a Redwood City
I will pay them a visit.Yo les pago la visita

Because of some traitorous fingersPor unos dedos traidores
I had a failure in UruapanTuve un fracaso en Uruapan
Also my lovely erased oneTambién mi linda borrada
Failed me back in SahuayoMe falló allá por Sahuayo
I'm an effective TarascoYo soy tarasco efectivo
I will soon give them their payment.Pronto les daré su pago

Don't waste money on radars anymoreYa no gasten en radares
Or destroying my tracksNi destrozando mis pistas
I'm a nocturnal birdYo soy una ave nocturna
That lands in any cornfieldQue aterriza en cualquier milpa
Besides the day I fallAdemás el día que caiga
Many from up there will fall.Caerán muchos de allá arriba
