I took a trip away from New Jersey. I took a trip away from you. I took a trip from things that bothered me. 'Cause everything I do just seems to bother you.
I got in my car, didn't know where, just knew how far I'd go to get you off my mind. A thousand miles away. Looking back I wish I stayed at home. 'Cause tour just makes me feel alone.
And everything I do is all because of you. I think of things to say in many different ways. But I can't make you see how you took it all away from me.

Alone is more like home than you could ever know. 'Cause you never stuck around to find out. And maybe those two friends will stay it to the end and I know I can fall back on them just like they fall on me like family.
