Within The Walls

Withdraw into the haunt of another
And open doors to past
Like two creatures sealed in a cocoon
Gestate in the womb that grew madness

And within the cloak of walls
What lingers such that it repels you
As it draws you in
And closes tighter, the more you hate it

It follows your footsteps through empty streets
The Haunt the only companion that remains
In the hazy, drunken dawn
Still awake when you return

And still it is your enemy
As they drag you screaming
From the womb within the walls
And the new dweller will come to learn
That Madness is the ghost of living men
