You Only Live Once

Watch the sun rise up high
and spread its light,
see the stars and the moon
in their fullness,
hear how the wind moans
in its swift pace,
feel how the rain falls
to sing its song;
contemplate the miracle of creation
reflected in humanity
and think about your life and your condition
as a man among the rest,
and tell me if it's wise
to live apart from God no more;
isn't it true that everything is vanity
and that someone loves us intensely?

If it's true that He lives, why not try
to seek Him and follow Him without hesitation?
If it's true that God exists
it will be important to find Him...
because you only live once,
once...

See how time passes by
rolling endlessly,
from summer to cold winter
and Christmas comes again,
you see yourself
another year has passed,
days that have gone by and
will never return;
listen to the voice of your own conscience
that often brings you light,
and remember your Creator
in the days of strength and youth,
and chart your path with a new direction
from the cross;

Who can understand you better than your Creator?
Who can fill you better than God Himself?
What good is so much pleasure and so much effort
if a bitter debt is your end?
Why not love Jesus more
who gave His life for you on the cross?
Because you only live once,
once...

When your journey ends
and you look back
make sure you can truly rejoice
that your face lights up
with happiness
and you realize that you have lived
anchored in the truth;
that your time on earth has not been in vain
because you walked in the light
because there was a peaceful moment in your life
when you accepted Jesus,
you will understand that it was much better
to love the cross;
stop and accept the forgiveness and kindness
that Jesus offers you and that you can reach,
before the moment of departure arrives
and in the end you have to repent
and cry, in solitude,
for not having found the way...
because you only live once,
once.
