I went down to the water
And looked past the breakers
Something in the sky told me
It would never be the same

I looked to my sister saying
What have I done?
I've made a mess of this song that I've sung

Now everyone's tryin' to tell me how it's suppose to be
It's not like I'm a child
But they don'teven hear me
