Que grandes riquezasThan great riches
Y el favor amorosoAnd loving favour
Más que plata y oroRather than silver and gold

El rico y el pobre se encuentran juntosThe rich and the poor meet togather
JAH es el creador de todos ellosJAH is the maker of them all

Un hombre prudente prevé el malA prudent man forseeth the evil
Y se escondeAnd hideth himself
Pero los simples siguen adelanteBut the simple pass on
Y son castigadosAnd are punished

No robes al pobreRob not the poor
Porque es pobreBecause he is poor
Ni oprimas al afligido en la puertaNeither oppress the afflicted in the gate
Porque JAH defenderá su causaFor JAH will plead their cause
Y arruinará el alma de aquellos que los arruinaronAnd spoil the soul of those that spoiled them

No hagas amistad con un hombre enojadoMake no friendship with an angry man
Y con un hombre furioso no irásAnd with a furious man thou shalt not go
No sea que aprendas sus caminosLest thou learn his ways
Y caigas en una trampa para tu alma.And get a snare to thy soul.

No seas uno de los que dan la manoBe not thou one of them that strike hands
O de los que son fiadores de deudasOr of them that are sureties for debts
Si no tienes nada que pagarIf thou hast nothing to pay
¿Por qué debería llevarse tu cama de debajo de ti?Why should he take away thy bed from under thee?

El que siembra iniquidad cosechará vanidadHe that soweth iniquity shall reap vanity
Y la vara de su ira fallará.And the rod of his anger shall fail.
El que tiene un ojo generoso será bendecidoHe that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed
Porque da de su pan al pobre.For he giveth of his bread to the poor.

Echa fuera al escarnecedorCast out the scorner
Y la contienda se iráAnd contention shall go out
¡Sí! La lucha y el reproche cesaránYeah! Strife and reproach shall cease
