we drank in Galwayabbiamo bevuto a Galway
did late nights in Lisbon barsfatto tardi nei bar di Lisbona
rediscovered Italian storiesriscoperto le storie d'Italia
on the notes of some song.sulle note di qualche canzone.

We traveled togetherAbbiamo girato insieme
and listened to the voices of the made ascoltato le voci dei matti
met the strangest peopleincontrato la gente più strana
and took on travel companionse imbarcato compagni di viaggio
some stayedqualcuno è rimasto
some left and never heard from againqualcuno è andato e non s'è più sentito
one day you too decidedun giorno anche tu hai deciso
a hug and then you left.un abbraccio e poi sei partito.

where we parked the vandove abbiamo fermato il furgone
we spent a minute listeningabbiamo perso un minuto ad ascoltare
to a partisan or some drunkardun partigiano o qualche ubriacone
the strange stories of old men at the barle strane storie dei vecchi al bar
and children with desert teae dei bambini col tè del deserto
were life lessonssono state lezioni di vita
that I learned and still keep.che ho imparato e ancora conservo.
