The Faithful Lover

i hesitate to write about the spring
there's a fear with all that loveliness
the wilderness i feel in everything
though not alone i think of loneliness

oh do not count on me for anything
although i love you as i do the spring

of gods late isolation in the sky
of wisdom turned dispear not happiness
while we are together you and i
abandone promises of future bliss

but love me with the truth now in your eye
regard the early falling leaf a kiss
regard fidelity a passing thing
it gives me courage when i tell you this
