Deliverance

A burning candle to the night sky
Your shadow coalesced with my own
Beneath the glow of the distant Moon
I lay my faltered head upon the old stone

A phantasm of memory
Bestill my stricken heart’s lament
Follow my aching vessel forth
As I trudge along through the waiting arch
As the breath of this familiar dusk

Reaps my soul from these mortal ties
On the other side may we meet again
I open my sullen eyes in a waking oblivion
In the void beyond I’ve long adored and sought

Buried deep in forgotten chasms
My deliverance in eternal sleep
The grand harmony of silence
Of tears I shall no longer weep
