Where do we draw the line
When our lives are so close
Every time I look
I see you staring back
But is it me you see
Or some shadow of the past
Are our lines drawn in sand
Will the tides wash them away
Or are they carved in stone
To weather the test of time

Are we to be content, to live our lives this way
This line that runs between us, and holds us at bay
At times it's obscured, other times it fades
But I long to keep it blurred, if just to touch your face
