Het Verhaal dat Ik Zal Vertellen

The Story I'll Tell

Het uur is donkerThe hour is dark
En het is moeilijk te zienAnd it’s hard to see
Wat je hier doetWhat you are doin’
In de ruïnesHere in the ruins
En waar dit naartoe zal leidenAnd where this will lead

Oh maar ik weetOh but I know
Dat door de jaren heenThat down through the years
Ik op dit moment zal terugkijkenI’ll look on this moment
Jouw hand erop zal zienSee your hand on it
En weten dat je hier wasAnd know you were here

En ik zal getuigen van de strijd die je hebt gewonnenAnd I’ll testify of the battles you’ve won
Hoe je mijn deel was toen er niet genoeg wasHow you were my portion when there wasn’t enough
Ik zal een lied zingen van de zeeën die we overstakenI'll sing a song of the seas that we crossed
De wateren die je opendeThe waters you parted
De golven waarop ik liepThe waves that I walked

Oh oh oh mijn God faalde nietOh oh oh my God did not fail
Oh oh oh het is het verhaal dat ik zal vertellenOh oh oh it’s the story I’ll tell
Oh oh oh ik weet dat het goed isOh oh oh I know it is well
Oh oh oh het is het verhaal dat ik zal vertellenOh oh oh is the story I’ll tell

Geloven wordt moeilijkBelieving gets hard
Wanneer de opties schaars zijnWhen options are few
Wanneer ik niet zie hoe je beweegtWhen I can't see how you're moving
Weet ik dat je bewijstI know that you're proving
Dat je de God bent die helptYou're the God that comes through

Oh maar ik weetOh but I know
Dat ik over de jaren heenThat over the years
Terug zal kijken op dit momentI’ll look back on this moment
En jouw hand erop zal zienAnd see your hand on it
En weten dat je hier wasAnd know you were here

Alles wat overblijft zijn de hoogste lofprijzenAll that is left is highest praises
Dus zing hallelujah voor de rots der eeuwenSo sing hallelujah to the rock of ages
