God Himself felt the chalice of bitternessO próprio Deus sentiu o cálice do amargor

And it was almost the sixth hourE já era quase a hora sexta
The Sun darkened, darkness fell over all the landEscurecendo-se o Sol, houve trevas sobre toda a terra
And the sanctuary veil was torn in twoE rasgou-se pelo meio o véu do santuário
Then, Jesus cried out in a loud voiceEntão, Jesus clamou em alta voz
Saying: Father, into Your hands I commit my SpiritDizendo: Pai, na tuas mãos entrego o meu Espírito
And saying this, He breathed His lastE dizendo, isto expirou
Seeing what had happened, the centurionVendo o centurião o que tinha acontecido
Gave glory to God, sayingDeu glória a Deus, dizendo
Truly, this is the Son of God!Verdadeiramente, esse é o Filho de Deus!

They gave Him vinegar instead of waterLhe deram vinagre, ao invés de água
And from His body, blood flowedE do Seu corpo, sangue jorrava
A vile and deep sufferingUm sofrimento vil e tão profundo
Jesus endured to save this worldJesus passou pra salvar este mundo
