caballos galopando y carros rechinando!halloping horses and jolting chariots!
¡Caballería cargando, espadas relucientes y lanzas brillantes!Chargin calvary, flashing swords and glittering spears!
Muchas bajas, montones de muertos, cuerpos sin número,Many casualties, piles of dead, bodies without number,
personas tropezando sobre los cadáveres--people stumbling ofver the corpses--
todo debido a la lujuria desenfrenada de una ramera,all because of the wanton lust of a harlot,
seductora, la dueña de hechicerías, que esclavizó naciones con su prostituciónalluring, the mistress of sorceries, who enslaved nations by her prostitution
y pueblos con su brujería.and peoples by her witchcraft.

El sol y la luna se detuvieron en los cielosSun and moon stood still in the heavens
al destello de tus flechas voladoras, al relámpago de tu lanza centelleante.at the glint of your flying arrows, at the lightning of you flashing spear.
Con ira caminaste por la tierra y en tu enojo trillaste a las naciones.In wrath you strode through the earth and in your anger you threshed the nations.
Saliste a liberar a tu pueblo, a salvar a tu ungido.You came out to deliver your people, to save your annointed one.
Destrozaste al líder de la tierra de maldad,You crushed the leader of the land of wickedness,
lo despojaste de pies a cabeza.you stripped him from head to foot.
Con su propia lanza le atravesaste la cabezaWith his own spear you pierced his head
cuando sus guerreros salieron a dispersarnos,when his warriors stormed out to scatter us,
alborozados como si estuvieran a punto de devorar a los desdichados que estaban escondidos.gloating as though about to devour the wretched who were in hiding.

Hollaste el mar con tus caballos, agitando las aguas profundas.You trampled the sea with your horses, churning the great waters.
Escuché y mi corazón latió fuerte, mis labios temblaron al sonido;I heard and my heart pounded, my lips quivered at the sound;
la decadencia se coló en mis huesos, y mis piernas temblaron.decay crept into my bones, and my legs trembled.
Aún así espero pacientemente el día de la calamidadYet I wait patiently for the day of calamity
que vendrá sobre la nación que nos invade.to come on the nation invading us.

El Señor Soberano es mi fortaleza...The Soverign LORD is my strength...

Ustedes, cielos arriba, derramen justicia; que las nubes la lluevan.You heavens above, rain down righteousness; let the clouds shower it down.
Que la tierra se abra de par en par, que la salvación brote,Let the earth open wide, let salvation spring up,
que la justicia crezca con ella; yo, el Señor, la he creado.let righteousness grow with it; I, the LORD, have created it.

¡Ay del que contienda con su Hacedor,Woe to him who quarrels with his Maker,
del que es solo un fragmento entre los fragmentos en el suelo.to him who is but a potsherd among the potsherds on the ground.
¿Acaso el barro le dice al alfarero, '¿Qué estás haciendo?'Does the clay say to the potter, 'What are you making?'
¿Acaso tu obra dice, 'Él no tiene manos'?'Does your work say, 'He has no hands'?

'Yo soy el Señor, y no hay otro.'"I am the LORD, and there is no other."
