Those who go down to the sea in shipsOs que sulcam o alto-mar com seus navios
Who do business on great watersPara ir comerciar nas grandes águas
Have seen the works of the LordTestemunharam os prodígios do Senhor
And His wonders in the deepE as suas maravilhas no alto-mar

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is goodDai graças ao Senhor, porque Ele é bom
For His mercy endures forever!Porque eterna é a sua misericórdia!

He commands and raises the stormy windEle ordenou, e levantou-se o furacão
Which lifts up the waves of the seaArremessando grandes ondas para o alto
They mount up to the heavens, they go down again to the depthsAos céus subiam e desciam aos abismos
Their soul melts because of troubleSeus corações desfaleciam de pavor

They cry out to the Lord in their troubleMas gritaram ao Senhor na aflição
And He brings them out of their distressE Ele os libertou daquela angústia

They are glad because they are quietAlegraram-se ao ver o mar tranquilo
So He guides them to their desired havenE ao porto desejado os conduziu
Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodnessAgradeçam ao Senhor por seu amor
And for His wonderful works to the children of men!E por suas maravilhas entre os homens!
