The Beaten Path

Followed my own footsteps
Time and time again
I thought I'd never see the end
Staring at myself in the mirror
Waiting for me to change
Hoping to break a habit of repeating history

I was fighting the same battles over and over again
I was lost in the middle of the crowd
Stuck on the beaten path
Going nowhere fast
But I found my way out
Off of the beaten path

Over and over again
I thought I'd never see the end
I rode the waves in a shipwreck
Sinking into the sea

Breaking the chains
As free as the wind
Leading a liberating revolution
