En dat zwarte konijn van de doodAnd that black rabbit of death
Wordt wakker in een zuchtWakes up in a breath
Van prachtige dromenOf beautiful dreams
Mijn hartzeer, het lijktMy heartache, it seems
Zo vreselijk ijdelSo terribly vain
Waar vuur en diamanten vallen als regenWhere fire and diamonds fall like rain
