Mató las flores y mató el pasto.It killed off the flowers and killed off the grass.
Los conejos se morían de hambre por el frío.The rabbits were starving because of the freeze.
Empezaron a comer la corteza de los árboles.They started eating the bark off the trees.

Los granjeros dijeron, 'Esto no puede seguir así.The farmers said, "This sort of thing just won't do.
