These Promises

Let this hammer fall unto thy head,
Punishment for the angels that i've slain,
Divine blood has stained these hands red,
Now I wait for the rain,
To wash this pain away,
And bring anew another day.

What lies in wait for me on the other side?
I meant so well,
In the end I still lost you and killed my pride,

If everything were to just fade away,
All these bright lights are blinding me,
And this water is freezing and my life withers away.

With one thousand words I will swear my life to you,
And my oath is worth more than life itself.

Today I let it all out,
These emotions are just illusions,
Today I give my life for you,
As payment for my expressions,
What kind of hell is waiting for me?
Or maybe God will forgive me,
I don't deserve such an act of mercy,
But I promised i would give my life for you,
