Ich wache jeden Morgen auf,I wake up every morning,
Obwohl ich all die JahreThough i’ve slept through
Durchgeschlafen habeAll of these years
Ein Zahnrad, das sich dreht,A cog that turns another,
Bin ich ein Uhrwerk-Puppenspieler?Am i clockwork puppeteer?
Das Laufband des ÜberlebensThe treadmill of surviving
Ich drehe mich immer weiterI’m still spinning round and round
Die Bewegungen, die ich gewohnt bin,The motions i’m use to,
Die ich ohne Sicht und Klang braucheThat i need no sight nor sound

Die Morgendämmerung des Lebens, ich habe lange darauf gewartetThe dawn of life, i’ve waited long to see
Jetzt die Gestalt des Grolls,Now the figure of resentment,

Ich malte das Leben nach Zahlen,I painted life by numbers,
Jede Farbe so wahr gemischtEvery color mixed so true
Aber wie konnte ich einen Regenbogen malen,But how could i paint a rainbow,
Wenn ich nur Blau sah?When all i saw, it’s was blue
Das Bild trocknet jetzt,The picture now is drying,
Während ich den Staub vom Rahmen wischeAs i wipe dust from the frame
Ein Lebensbild ist vollendetA lifetime’s picture is complete
Doch die Leinwand ist immer noch so leerBut the canvas is still so plain
